Halo Demo Mac
Not even remotely. In the environment where a sans-Microsoft Halo would have been born it would have pretty much been another Bungie game. A neat RTS, with some TPS action, set in the Marathon universe. It would have sold well, ended up on PC and spawned maybe a sequel or two. Halo did what it did for MS, and MS did for Halo what it did because the FPS experience of most of Halo's acolytes, at the time, was almost entirely limited to Goldeneye and Perfect Dark and the like.
